Review of Delonghi RotoFry fryers

Delonghi fryers have long enjoyed a well-deserved popularity in the market. High quality of assembly and materials, stylish design and the use of innovations are their traditional advantages. RotoFry series is one of the most popular. It’s based on the new RotoFry technology that uses an oblique basket rotation to reduce the required amount of oil.

Delonghi F28311

The power and capacity of the oil container for this compact model is 1800 W and 1 / 1.25 quarts, respectively. This volume provides cooking 2.2 lb of food. The cooking time of 1 lb fresh chips is about 8 minutes at a temperature of 190 degrees.

RotoFry technology is the main innovation of this series. It’s based on an angled rotating basket that provides the periodic immersion of food in hot oil during rotation.

This technology ensures a uniform frying, reduces oil consumption and prevents the formation of bubbles and splashes.

Delonghi F28311 is equipped with very convenient patented oil draining system.

It’s drained after 1-2 hours after the end of cooking. This time is necessary to cool the oil. Paper filters for cleaning used oil are purchased separately.

Large overview window and filter in the lid provide visual control and odor absorption during cooking.

This filter is designed for 10-15 cooking cycles.

Cool Touch walls prevent the risk of burns during cooking.

Cooking temperature varies from 150 to 190 В° C with the help of adjustable thermostat.

Unfortunately, the model is designed for the network 220-230 V / 50-60 Hz and requires an adapter for use in the US. The countdown timer is also absent.

Pros:

– RotoFry technology reduces oil consumption;

– convenient patented system for draining oil;

– compactness;

– additional stirring during cooking;

– Cool Touch walls eliminate the risk of burns.

Cons:

– no built-in timer;

– 220-230 V / 50-60 Hz electrical network;

– high price;

– regular purchase of replaceable filters.

DeLonghi D28313UXBK

The power of this model is 1500 W. The remaining values are almost identical to the previous model. D28313UXBK is designed for a network of 120 V / 60 Hz that is its main advantage for the US.

3. DeLonghi RotoFry F28533

Virtually all values, including the 220-230 V / 50-60 Hz electrical network, are similar to the Delonghi F28311. The presence of an electronic timer with a step of one minute is its main difference. Timer uses its own battery and is not designed for programming. Device forms beep in the end of cooking cycle, but it do not turn off the heating element.

The control is very simple and intuitive. The rotary dial is used to select the cooking temperature in the range from 150 to 190 degrees. Nearby are the heating indicator and the lid opening button.

Lever on the front panel is designed to fold the handle of the basket. The cord is folded and fixed under the bottom panel.

The oil is heated to 190 degrees for 6.5 minutes. The average cooking time is 10 minutes. The basket occupies a position above the oil level or on the bottom of the bowl. The upper position is intended for oil warms up mode. Then it’s lowered to the lower position for frying foods.

The cooking time corresponds to the instructions. It’s 8 minutes for French fries and 6 minutes for shrimp.

This video perfectly illustrates the operation principle of RotoFry technology.
