Visionair-e Platinum Vision 3000 4K UST Laser projector Review

Today Visionair-e projectors are less popular on the American continent compared to Epson, BenQ, LG, Hisense, etc brands. VISIONAIR-E Group LLC was founded in the USA by Paul Beswick, founder of Pro Display Group in the UK. The purpose of its creation is to support and develop markets in North America, Central and South America and Canada. In turn, Pro Display has been successfully designing and developing optical screen technologies for more than two decades. It produces products with unique smart glass solutions and touch screen technologies.
Its product line includes optical UST projection screens, Mirror TV’s, Transparent OLED TV, specialist outdoor TV’s and projectors.

The surface of high reflective optical 4K smart mirror TV screen turns to a decorative mirror after turning off. Reflexio mirror TV screens have a stunning visual effect and are very popular as a digital signage screen in homes, hotel bedrooms, corporate offices, retail stores, bars and restaurants. At InfoComm 2023 in Orlando, Florida, the company introduced the new Visionair-e 3000 UST 4K laser projector.

Visionair-e Platinum Vision 3000

Platinum Vision 3000 joins the line of new premium 4K UST laser projectors 2023. Its ALPD 3.0-based (Advanced Laser Phosphor Display) laser phosphor light engine provides brightness up to 3,000 ANSI Lumens. The projector uses 6-segment color wheel and, according to the company, covers 115% of BT.709 color space. A complete list of color standards and their color range in relation to CIE 1931:

– Rec. 2020 (Ultra HD) – 75.8%;

– Adobe RGB (image preparation for printing) – 52.1%;

– DCI-P3 (digital cinemas) – 45.5%;

– Rec. 709 (Full HD) – 35.9%;

– sRGB (standard for images on the Internet) – 35%.

For reference, сolor gamut of many mid-budget models does not exceed 60%-70% of BT.709, and 115% corresponds to the premium segment.

Projector has .47″ DMD chipset with XPR (Xpanded Pixel Resolution) technology. It supports 4K resolution with 4 phase pixel shift.

This technology divides 8 million pixels of 4K images into 4 parts of 2 million, and sequentially reproduces them with a diagonal shift of half a pixel, using only 2 million 1080p micromirrors of the chipset. Due to the high frequency, the brain perceives 4 images as one clearer one. To shift the pixels, the projector uses an XPR module, 4 electromagnets of which change the angle of the lens.

The model provides screen size from 80″ up to 150″ at (0.3 – 0.7 m) throw distance and 0.21:1 throw ratio. The 8 point keystone adjustment focus cinema quality images of up to 150″ diagonal. Its dinamic contrast is 15,000:1. Also Visionair-e 3000 has Android 8 OS, geometric correction and 2x 10.0W internal speakers.

Conclusion

Launch street price and MSRP reach $ 3,750 and $ 4,995. Of course, the brand’s lineup of Visionair-e belongs to the luxury segment where value for money is less important. But objectively the projector will compete with a wide range of superb models. A partial list of 4K UST laser competitors includes:

BenQ V5000i – $ 3,500;

LG HU715Q – $ 3,000;

Epson EB-810E – $ 3,300;

Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS800 – $ 3,120;

CHiQ B8U and B7U – $ 3,120 and up to $ 2,000;

Optoma CinemaX D2 – $ 2,700;

Formovie Theater – $ 3,000;

Hisense PL1 – € 2,085;

Hisense PX1-PRO – $ 2,700.

Of course, the traditional launch price correction can change the situation, but so far the projector seems too expensive.
